Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, indicated he wasn't satisfied with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's decision to reduce how much his state must reduce emissions under an upcoming rule addressing toxic pollution from aging power plants.
The EPA announced yesterday it would allow power plants in Texas and nine other states to emit more pollution under the upcoming Cross-State Air Pollution Rule, which will require plants 27 in states including Texas to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide that the agency says can travel to downwind states.
